Bugsy’s Pizza Restaurant in Alexandria, VA

If you’re craving pizza but need a change from the big name chains, then we have the place for you! Bugsy’s Pizza Restaurant and Sports Bar has been in business longer than we have been alive and have the pizza expertise to show it. The best part about the pizza is actually something it lacks – grease. It tastes fresh and cheesy with just enough tomato sauce – exactly how a pizza should be.

The decor matches Old Town Alexandria’s rustic but still urban vibe. The walls are dark stone, giving the restaurant a warm and cozy vibe. The sports bar is located upstairs which separates it from the restaurant downstairs.  This is a nice feature because it doesn’t make you feel like you have to be a sports fan to enjoy the food. Bugsy’s allows you to cheer with friends or enjoy a quiet(er) meal downstairs.

You can order everything from thick and thin pizza with a variety of toppings as well as pastas, wings, sandwiches, and salads. Our favorite time to go is during the daily lunch special, where you can enjoy all-you-can-eat pizza and salad for $7.45. If you work in Old Town, the lunch buffet runs from 11:30 to 2:30. It is extended to 3:30 on Saturday, Sunday, and holidays. The pizzas turn over quickly and there are always several toppings to choose from.  If you’re a beer fan, be sure to check out the famous Bugsy’s Brew – a custom lager brewed by Sam Adams.

We also just recently heard about the Bugsy’s Midnight Munch Buffet.  From 9:00 PM to midnight on Friday and Saturday night, you can enjoy the all you can eat buffet again for $7.45. It’s easy to spend a day in Old Town especially when the weather warms up so we’ll be sure to check this out when we need some late night munchies!
