801 Provides Casual Bottomless Brunch in Shaw

801 in Shaw has been one of my favorite rooftops in the neighborhood for years. The location features two floors of indoor dining, a rooftop, and covered street dining. I especially enjoy 801 in the winter months for drinks because they turn their rooftop into a cozy, heated area – even before COVID.While 801 is always a great option for weekend or after-work drinks, today we’re here to talk about brunch.

What’s So Great about 801 Brunch?

Bottomless Build-Your-Own Mimosas: For $20 a person, you can order bottomless bubbly with 4 juice choices.   Can’t decide what your favorite juice is? No sweat! You’ll get a bottle for the table with the 4 juice choices that you can mix and match as you please. Plus, if you’re not a huge juice fan, you can mix a little, a lot, or none at all.

801 also offers mimosas by the glass, seltzers, and specialty cocktails. Bottomless is limited to 2 hours.

Entree Variety: 801 is only bottomless for drinks but all of their entrees are excellent. My favorites are the Bailey’s French Toast, Avocado Toast, and Surfer’s Breakfast Tacos. They also have a veggie omelet, classic eggs & bacon breakfast, and several benedict options.

Add Some Small Plates: One tough thing about bottomless drinks but not food is want to be eating something throughout my drink time. If an entree isn’t enough for you, 801 has added some new sharable apps to the menu. My favorite is the Lobster Mac & Cheese Balls but you can also order fries, popcorn chicken, a fruit bowl, house salad, or citrus salad.

Ambiance: 801 sits near many other popular bars and restaurants on Florida Ave. However, all the dining areas are nicely decorated so that you don’t feel too close to the busy street. Even the street dining is set up out of the way, on the side street. Plus, the waiters always make sure you don’t have an empty bottle at your table.

Let’s Go!

801 is open for brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm. They are also open for dinner 7 days a week starting at 4 pm. 801 offers indoor and outdoor seating in the street and on the rooftop. Reservations aren’t required but strongly encouraged. Keep up with 801 on Instagram for the latest news.
