Things to do
Head to the National Mall for plenty of open space to enjoy the snow and lots of landmarks for photos. Plus, there's usually a snowball fight.
The National Arboretum is very quiet in the winter but one of my favorite place to go after a snowfall. Explore over 400 acres of a winter wonderland.
Malcolm X Park near Columbia Heights is a beloved neighborhood spot to enjoy the snow. Run around in the snow, build a snowman, and enjoy the snowfall on the architecture.
Great Falls is a little bit of a drive outside DC but is a great place for a winter walk. Bundle up and explore the snowy paths around the falls. The entry fee is included in the National Parks Pass.
Another great spot for a winter walk is Rock Creek Park. The snow looks beautiful on the trees and falling on the water.
