East Potomac Park is a great place to spend the day outside. It is easily walkable from the Wharf or the Tidal Basin. Or find plenty of parking on the island.
Bike or walk around the island with views of the Potomac River and plenty of picnic tables. It is especially beautiful during cherry blossom season and fall foliage.
At the bottom of the bottom of the park, you'll find Hains Point with views of the Potomac Rivers, Anacostia River, and the Washington Channel.
At the top of the park, you're pretty close to the Jefferson Memorial and the George Mason Memorial. You can also see the Titanic Memorial across the Washington Channel.
If you don't bring a picnic, head over to The Wharf for a huge variety of restaurant options. For a quick bite, enjoy soup from the Fish Market or bakery items from Colada Shop.
