Travel
Davis, WV is about a 3 hour drive from the DC area. It is busier during the ski season but can be a fun, inexpensive getaway in the warmer months too.
Don't miss the beautiful falls located in the Allegheny Mountains. Find cabins, campsites, hiking, boating, and swimming inside the park.
If camping isn't your style, find a variety of cabins on home share sites. Look out for cabins with air conditioning if you plan to visit in July or August.
Visit the town in Davis for cute shops and food like Hellbender Burritos and Sirianni's Café. Don't miss drinks at Stumptown Ales or New Heritage Distilling.
When you are finished exploring Davis, head over to Thomas for even more shopping. Find breweries, art shops, and a Christmas store.
My favorite spot in Thomas is The Purple Fiddle. They offer great food, cocktails, and beer often with live music.
Find more great nature hikes outside the main parks with the All TrailsApp. There's plenty of flat walks so any level can enjoy the landscape.
