Jazz in the Garden takes place every Friday through July 22 in the Sculpture Garden outside the National Gallery of Art.
Tickets are free but you'll need to grab them in advance. Set a reminder to get tickets for the following week every Friday at 10 am.
Seating is heavily shaded around the fountain with a little more sun around the outside of the garden.
Outside food and coolers are allowed so stock up on your favorite snacks and extra water. It gets hot in the summer!
No outside alcohol is allowed but you can buy pitchers or single serve sangria and beer. Plus, the Pavilion is open for snacks, more wine, & soft drinks.
Consider bringing a lawn chair instead of a blanket. Sit in the grass instead of near the fountain for the most comfort.
The National Mall is crowded in the summer so consider taking metro to The Archives, Metro Center, or Smithsonian.
